What is Prayer Guard?
Prayer Guard is a Christian app blocker for Android built by Sevenfold Studio. When you open a selected distracting app, Prayer Guard can place a Bible verse, a short breathing pause, and prayer in that moment. Each app can use Pause + pray, Pray to open, or Block completely.
What is the difference between the three guard modes?
Pause + pray interrupts the launch and then leaves the final choice to you. Pray to open requires the prayer step before the selected app can open. Block completely keeps that selected app closed while the mode is active. See Guard Modes for examples.
Does Prayer Guard work on Android?
Yes. Prayer Guard is currently available for Android through Google Play.
Is Prayer Guard available for iPhone?
Not yet. Prayer Guard is currently Android-only; an iPhone version has not launched.
Which apps can Prayer Guard guard?
You choose installed Android apps that need a boundary: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, games, shopping, news, and others. The rule applies to the selected app itself; it does not automatically block the same service inside a web browser.
What is Commitment Lock?
Commitment Lock lets a trusted person hold the PIN required to weaken protected Prayer Guard settings. Stronger changes remain available. If the PIN holder is unavailable, the documented 24-hour glass-break cooldown provides a deliberate exit.
Can Prayer Guard make my Android phone impossible to bypass?
No. Prayer Guard can create meaningful in-app friction and accountability, but the owner of a normal Android device still has system-level controls such as uninstalling or force-stopping apps. For child-owned devices that require supervised-device control, consider appropriate Android parental-control tools in addition to Prayer Guard.
Does Prayer Guard upload my prayers or journal?
No Prayer Guard account is required and Sevenfold Studio does not maintain a cloud database of your personal prayer or journal content. Personal content stays local by default.
How does private backup work?
You may optionally create a password-encrypted backup and save it to a location you choose, such as the phone, your personal Google Drive, or USB storage. Sevenfold Studio does not receive the backup file or password and cannot recover a lost backup password. Read the backup details.
Does Prayer Guard have a free trial?
Yes. Prayer Guard currently offers a 7-day free trial through Google Play. Current paid-plan options are shown on the pricing page and in Google Play.
What Bible content is included?
Prayer Guard includes 257+ Scripture passages and Christian quotes, mood-matched prayers, a home-screen Bible verse widget, and a prayer journal.
