Privacy commitment

Effective August 3, 2026 · Sevenfold Studio · Prayer Guard for Android

Your prayer life is between you and God. Prayer Guard does not operate an account system or a Sevenfold Studio cloud database for your personal content.

Stored locally by default

Your guarded-app list, schedules, prayer journal entries, streaks, moods, quiz answers, prayer history, and personal settings are stored locally on your device by default. Sevenfold Studio does not receive, host, or read this content.

Optional private backup & restore

Prayer Guard lets you create a password-encrypted backup and choose where to save it using Android's system document picker. You may choose your phone, personal Google Drive, USB storage, or another available storage provider. Prayer Guard and Sevenfold Studio do not receive the backup file or your password.

• The backup is created only when you choose to create it
• The file is encrypted before it is saved using AES-256-GCM
• The encryption key is derived from your password using PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256
• A new random salt and encryption IV are used for every backup
• If Google Drive is selected, Drive stores the already-encrypted file in your personal account
• Sevenfold Studio cannot read the backup or recover a forgotten password

A manually saved backup can remain available after the app is uninstalled. Restoring requires selecting that file and entering the correct password. Read the complete private backup explanation.

Android automatic device backup

Android's automatic device-backup system may back up eligible app data to the device owner's Google backup, depending on the phone and Google backup settings. That backup is controlled by Android and the user's Google account—not by Prayer Guard or Sevenfold Studio.

What is not included in a manual backup

Manual backups do not copy Google Play subscription entitlement, Android permissions, temporary social-media access windows, temporary parent-unlock sessions, or other temporary installation state. Subscriptions are reverified through Google Play, and required Android permissions must be granted again on a new installation.

What Prayer Guard does not do

• No Prayer Guard account required for personal content
• No Sevenfold cloud database containing prayers, journal entries, or streaks
• No reading of your screen content, messages, or typing
• No selling or sharing of personal journal or prayer data
• No advertising SDKs or cross-app trackers

Android permissions, explained

Prayer Guard requests only the Android permissions required to detect when a guarded app is launched and to display the prayer pause screen over it. These permissions are used strictly for that purpose, processed on-device, and can be revoked at any time in your phone's settings. Prayer Guard will stop guarding apps if required permissions are removed.

Children

Prayer Guard is designed as a self-accountability and family-supported tool. It does not ask users to submit names, journal entries, or prayers to Sevenfold Studio.
